It’s been the hottest of hot topics for the last few years and Brexit still shows no sign of stopping – even though we have by-passed the date for the UK to leave the EU.
Protests for both sides of the debate have occurred in London with Brexit street art appearing throughout the capital too.
On walls throughout Shoreditch these ‘Scrap Brexit’ skulls by Uberfubs line the streets with ‘diamonds’ embellished within some of them.
Some of the paste ups opt to feature a selection of the politicians that have got us into this mess and some that are trying to (allegedly) sort it out!
This hilarious one featuring UK Prime Minister Theresa May embedded in that famous scene from Basic Instinct (don’t think about this image for too long!)
Whilst others use fake warning messages from faux cigarette packaging warning against Brexit and a few more lies too!
The sole individual responsible for allegedly misleading the general public into this Brexit mess was UKIP leader Nigel Farage whom is depicted at a survival camp with the title ‘Forage with Farage’ on the CBC aka ‘Cockney Broadcasting Corporation’
Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg do not escape the attention with lots of posters around Brick Lane mocking them too.
Near Brick Lane’s ‘Star Yard’ the walls are full of posters, pasteups, stencils and stickers all with an anti-Brexit message – there really is a constant anti-Brexit deluge here.
Bugger Brexit indeed!
All the popular street art spots in London attracted the anti-Brexit work including these paste-ups at the Leake Street tunnel near Waterloo.
Not just paste-ups here but some larger mural work featuring the phrases ‘Stop Brexit Now’ and ‘Fuck Brexit’
At the end of March 2019 over a million people descended on London to make their feelings known on Brexit taking part in The People’s March – where lots of effort had gone into the placards they carried. What a fantastic selection!
