Made in Birmingham

Gent, Newso street art, Birmingham

Set in the heart of the urban area of Digbeth, Birmingham is this vast car park with an even vaster wall (it is such a word!)

Bricked walls run around the perimeter of the car park and all attract some great street art but this large wall has recently been painted by local lads Gent and Newso.

Below are a few pics and a video from the guys themselves painting it a few weeks ago.

Huge letters making up the word ‘MADE’ cover the whole wall and is a commission for the local Made Festival being held in Birmingham.

We based the painting on their existing logo and flyer design, tried to bring in some references to Birmingham and paint something in our recognisable collaborative style.” – Newso

A black coloured bricked wall makes for a great backdrop to make the bright and colourful art buzz with colour – I think citrus indigo sums up the colour palette used.

Famous for their style of detailed characters, colours and patterns the duo have made this come to life with these two giant people. One sporting some sunglasses and the other wearing an anchor covered summer shirt whilst chilling in the summer scene.

Proving a very popular place to visit to see the wall in all it’s glory and acting as an amazing backdrop for some photoshoots too!

So many interesting things within the design including more people, famous landmarks from Birmingham and even a running speaker!
