As the transformation of Central Square gathers pace with old buildings disappearing and resulting in new mammoth structures rising like a phoenix in it’s place.
The new buildings have resulted in loads of hoardings segregating areas and here, construction giant Willmot Dixon, have allowed a host of local artists to paint on some of them surrounding their 1 Central Square development.
There seems to be a far eastern and technology slant to some of the designs with the first two from US3/Mim Lucy and OWE.
Moving along the approach road, next to the soon to be demolished bus station, are two further pieces by Unity/Millimagic and local lad Spk.
Milli’s piece features a woman dreaming of time – either she’s keeping tabs on all the late buses or auditioning for the new title sequence to Countdown!
Spk has created a wacky half-mechanical character sporting elements from Spiderman and a few televisions thrown in for good measure too – that pink is so vibrant!
Looks like someone else decided to get in on the act below – twas a sitter for it really!
Part two to follow soon.
