Trying to find out what the biggest piece of Cardiff street art by a single artist is?
Then surely the answer must be this humongous work by artist Kera in the Welsh capital.
Situated at the heart of the city centre, German artist Kera, has painted on the metal facade fronting the Millennium Plaza in his own geometric style.
Standing tall near to the Millennium Stadium, opposite the vintage bus station and directly facing burgeoning new developments this is quite a major feat of planning and organisation to get this work commissioned and completed.
Working for the best part of a week, Kera was seen tirelessly up the orange lift from early morning til gone 8pm and painting right up until dusk most nights to ensure the work was completed on time.
For the first few days the weather was rather pleasant (for Cardiff!) with the bright palette of colour bursting in the sunlight whilst building work continued nearby.
Methodically marking out each section with tape then painting each block of colour before moving onto the next.
Working loosely from left to right each small metal panel was transformed with its own bespoke design in a 3 x 5 grid system.
After the initial great weather the Thursday was blighted with the wettest day on record for Cardiff so far this year! But work continued until the end of the week when conditions luckily improved.
So as the week drew to an end the finish line was in sight and the last metal panel completed. What an incredible and incredibly huge piece of street art that had been created in Cardiff.
Well done that man!
