It’s always great to hear when an artist is painting a new wall in Cardiff – but it’s even more exciting news when you hear it’s a collaboration between two of them – step forward Colourdoomed and HB for the latest masterpiece in the city.
Local photographer Terry Matthews has been passing the location each day and been snapping away recording the progress of the work.
Massive thanks to Terry for taking for the pics and allowing us all to see them here. (It’s appreciated!) Check out more of his pictures over on his Flickr page at https://www.flickr.com/photos/terrydmatthews
Originally this wall, set on Northcote Lane in Roath, has been dogged by the usual tagging over the years so it’s always encouraging to see hard work going into improving the local environment through street art.
Below are a few images captured just before the final day of painting took place – nearly everything is complete apart from the enclosure of the caravan, the addition of some birds and lots of other finer details.
So after 4 days of hard work the huge wall was complete with the styles of both artists totally complementing each other.
Featuring two huskies pulling a wooden caravan, housing a skeleton in a basket complete with a floating man being carried along by some balloons! #NeverTakingMushroomsAgain
This work now completes the three large gabled ends of the street with works already from HB, Colourdoomed and Run joining the latest addition. Click the photos above to view the other works.
A flying duck is featured on a smaller part of the wall separated by the garage and also the obligatory signatures from the artists below.
