Back in October 2004 legendary DJ John Peel sadly passed away and now to mark the 10 year anniversary local artist Lembo has created some street art as a tribute to him.
He was the longest serving of the original BBC Radio 1 DJs, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004. He was known for his eclectic taste in music and his honest and warm broadcasting style.
Set on Cardiff’s Womanby Street nestling on a street full of bars, clubs and live music venues and slap bang next door to Clwb Ifor Bach – this is a fitting location for the striking piece of street art.
Currently taking part in the Empty Walls Festival, artist Lembo has created a giant stencilled paste-up on top of a vibrant pink wooden backdrop – utilising a derelict vacant space.
