Gloucester held it’s first-ever street art festival on August 1st to 3rd in 2014. Christened ‘The Gloucester Paint Jam‘ it was held at locations througout the City but with the main focus on King’s Square in the city centre.
More than 40 artists from near-by and some much further afield turned out for the event – bringing more colour and creativity to Gloucester. The event has been organised by local artist Beastie, in co-operation with Marketing Gloucester with many others getting really involved like Trix.
Various pubs and bars got a ‘Paintjam’ makeover and here (Tommy) Trix has spent many hours painting the outside of The Brunswick pub in lavishly bright psychedelic colours.
The pub features a huge piece of street art detailing Jimi Hendrix on guitar and Johnny Depp all glammed up as The Mad Hatter. (There certainly is a theme developing here!)
The vibrant colours and designs make it’s way around the side of the pub and grace the beer garden area with giant mushrooms and mystical fairies!
The artist said he’d already spent 30 hours painting this along with hundreds of pounds worth of paint with still the top to finish and a gable end to go!
