Peaceful Progress at The Printhaus

Most street art in Cardiff seems to be located in the eastern side of the city so it was rather refreshing to unearth some great work on the western side located in the Canton suburb.

Set amongst some fantastic workshops off Llandaf Road is The Printhaus which houses many creatives, artist studios and a large print workshop – all offering some lush red bricked walls as canvas.

Here local artist Peaceful Progress has painted a very large piece across some wooden hoardings in an oriental style featuring two Japanese ladies with colourful attire.

This was a free-styled piece loosely based on a Japanese vibe… with a mix of brush-stroke effect and bamboo thrown in for good measure.” – Peaceful Progress

Peaceful Progress is a Cardiff-based arts collective sometimes featuring artists like Best, Bryce Davies, and Sinstars.

Here they have collaborated to create some very distinctive Japanese characters set amongst an organic swirly backdrop complete with leaves and branches.

Elegantly perching on these branches are a set of colourful birds hoping to avoid the dripping paint!
