It was time to take another trawl around the ‘creative’ areas of Cathays and Roath (ok it’s where all the students live and they seem to accept and produce street art a lot more than the rest of Cardiff!)
This time beginning at Cathays Community Centre and some amazing pieces from the locals including a tribute to the late MCA from The Beastie Boys.
Moving further into Roath and some grafitti faces and tags from DMC/DWG/DUC (did we ever clear up exactly what it was supposed to have read?) I haven’t seen anything new from them since this time last year – but you can view the previous stuff here:-
These recent ones seem to have a lot less colour and detail to them but seem to feature more names like King G and Adore (?)
In amongst all of these were some stencils having political rants appearing against the Government, Olympics and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations!
Just off Albany Road and there’s a full length stencil from Lembo of someone (probably) famous – does anyone know who it is? I quite like the way the paint has run on Lembo’s tag!
And it wouldn’t be a Roath/Cathays grafitti trawl without a cat from Lembo!!! And he hasn’t let us down on that front! Nestling next to one of Spade’s blob whales on the end of Salisbury Road. I love GraffiTEA!
